Dr. J. D. McDougall, M.D.
National Clinical Director
Dr. McDougall received his M.D. and LMCC from the University of Toronto in 1972. He is also a graduate of the Physician Manager Institute, CMA (all levels), and sat on their Advisory Board for five years. He has thirty-six years of experience in occupational health consulting along with twenty-four years of experience in private practice. He is one of Canada’s senior Occupational Health consultants and is currently a member of the Occupational and Environmental Medical Association of Canada. He was one of the Association’s early supporters and members and sat on their Board for seven years. As the National Medical Director of Viewpoint, Dr. McDougall is a regular presenter and speaker to Viewpoint’s industry, insurance and legal clients. Further to this, he provides expert medical opinion to these clients and Workers’ Compensation Boards. He has qualified as an expert witness in Occupational Medicine, Disability Evaluation and Fitness to Work. Over the course of his career, he has participated in and observed other healthcare systems and their operation; identified strengths and weaknesses in them, implemented some of them and managed others. He is highly aware of change in our health systems and aware of the challenges facing today’s physicians. His extensive knowledge in medicine combined with his experience in business relations makes him a valuable asset to the Viewpoint team.
Angela Symes
Vice President of Viewpoint Operations
Angela began working for Viewpoint Medical in 1993 as the first employee for the newly formed company. During her 16 years with Viewpoint she has fulfilled the role of all administrative positions with her current role being Vice President of Operations. She provides leadership for the Senior Management Team through her extensive experience in the third party assessment industry along with her solid financial and operational education background. Outside of Viewpoint, Angela enjoys horseback riding, golf and softball.
Debbie MacKinnon
Controller
Debbie began working with Viewpoint in April of 2008, where she assumed the role of Corporate Controller. She is an Executive Manager and works closely with the Senior Management Team. Debbie came to Viewpoint with an extensive knowledge of accounting and finance along with a strong background in Human Resources. Her vision is to have Viewpoint remain the “Employer of Choice” in the third party assessment industry. She is actively involved in the softball community in Calgary where she plays on a recreational slow-pitch team and volunteers as the Treasurer/Fundraising Coordinator for the Calgary Rockies Bantam Girls All-Star Fast pitch team.
Jennifer Turner, BHKin, RK
Functional Services Manager and National Contracts Manager
Jennifer graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor in Human Kinetics, specializing in Exercise Science. She has been a Practicing Member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists for the past seven years. During this time, she has performed over 700 assessments including functional capacity and impairment evaluations, job demands and worksite analyses, and post-offer employment tests. She has qualified as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of British Columbia in the fields of Kinesiology and Functional Capacity Evaluation. She has also been involved in active rehabilitation, having designed, implemented and monitored exercise and rehabilitation programs for over 300 individuals (in both group and one-on-one settings). She has attended the Roy Matheson & Associates 5-day residency course for Functional Capacity Evaluations, 2-day course for Life Care Planning, and 2-day course for Post-Offer Pre-Employment Testing. Jennifer is Viewpoint’s Functional Services Manager and is a Certified WCB Permanent Functional Impairment Clinician and Designated Trainer, and is also a Certified ARCON Clinical Evaluator. She currently performs assessments as well as provides training and ongoing support for Viewpoint’s team of functional evaluators.
Devrie Lapointe
Business Manager
Devrie joined the Viewpoint Medical team in October 2009 as a Business Manager where she is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations and communications for the Victoria office.
Devrie was born and raised in Northern British Columbia, relocating to Victoria in the year 2000. Over the past two years Devrie has lived and traveled internationally, both personally and professionally, returning to the city of Victoria in July 2009. After many years within the Health and Wellness industry, Devrie joined the Viewpoint team to continue her passion for continued wellness and development in a new field for her, the medical industry. She is a passionate advocate for ensuring exceptional standards and her goal is to continue to provide consistent and premium levels of customer service and communication with all Viewpoint staff, clients and consultants. With her extensive background within the wellness and health industry, Devrie continues to demonstrate leadership and guidance to all Viewpoint clients and consultants, focusing on working towards maintaining and strengthening these strong relationships and ensuring brand standards.
Gabrielle Limoges
Business Manager and Corporate Collections Manager
Gabrielle joined the Viewpoint Kelowna team in 2006 as an Administrative Assistant. After continued performance success, she presently holds a blended position of Business Manager of the Kelowna office and as a Collections Manager for Corporate Head Office. This position is well-suited to her as she has an extensive background in bookkeeping and finance through her education and previous areas of employment. She is responsible for the operations of her own office along with the financial operations of all Viewpoint offices.
Susan Huang, M.Sc.
Quality Assurance Manager
Susan has responsibility for Quality Assurance protocols and processes within Viewpoint, with direct responsibility for clients, consultants and operations. Susan has a B.A. in Psychology (University of British Columbia) and a M.Sc. in Sport Psychology (Western Washington University). She has a special interest in Exercise Adherence and Occupational Health. Susan joined the Viewpoint team in 2007 and has many years of experience in Psychology and Exercise Science. She resides in Vancouver, BC and enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog.
Amanda Yakimovitch
Business Manager and Business Development Coordinator
Amanda joined the Viewpoint Edmonton office in 2008 as an In-take Coordinator. She has held a number of roles within the company since starting in 2008. In her current blended position as Business Manager in Edmonton and Business Development Coordinator, she is responsible for the implementation of all day to day operations within her local office as well as enhancing the success of Viewpoint by establishing national consistencies and coordination in an effort to build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and staff.
Michelle Crumback
Business Manager
Michelle was born in Trenton, Ontario and has since lived all over Canada most recently in Summerland, B.C. and finally Calgary, AB. Prior to her current employment at Viewpoint, Michelle completed her Medical Administrative Assistant diploma in Calgary, AB along with her Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology courses. Following this education, she began employment in the Division of Neurosurgery at the Foothills Medical Centre for two of Calgary’s top neurosurgeons. This experience has provided Michelle with the medical background to assist Viewpoint’s clients in the independent medical evaluating process. Michelle began work at Viewpoint Calgary in July of 2008 as Business Manager and Reports Coordinator.
Stephanie Bond, B.A. (Hons.)
Business Manager
Stephanie was born and raised in Toronto, ON. After graduating from Carleton University in Ottawa with a B.A. (Hons.) in English, she moved to Vancouver to test out the west coast lifestyle. She began working with Viewpoint Vancouver in May of 2008 as a Reports Coordinator and shortly after that moved to Victoria to take on the Business Management position. In December 2009, she relocated a second time in order to assume the responsibilities as Business Manager for Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. She is responsible for all of the operations within Viewpoint’s Vancouver office including, but not limited to, business development, accounting and client services. Further to the operation of her own office, she has been actively contributing to Viewpoint’s website development.
Darlene Ramirez
Consultant Care Manager
Darlene joined the Viewpoint Calgary team in 2001 as a Client Services Coordinator. After having held a role in all of the administrative positions, Darlene is now the Consultant Care Manager. She is responsible for successfully developing and managing consultant relationships with Viewpoint. Darlene attended Mount Royal University and has attended ongoing educational career advancement courses. Her education combined with her experience at Viewpoint makes her a valuable asset and an excellent source of contact for consultants.
